Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We’ve got you. Here are some quick answers to help you learn more about how Flowstate Wellness works and what to expect.
Do I need to be able to Surf, Skateboard or Snowboard to attend?
No, these retreats are about learning to be mindful and to get into a flow state. We teach board sports as a moving meditation. We have qualified coaches who teach you the fundamentals of each board sport, as well as mindfulness and nervous system exercises to empower you to self-regulate.
How long do the retreats last?
We do day-long, 3-day, and 5-day retreats.
What are the benefits of attending ?
The main thing is to have fun, meet like-minded people, observe your busy mind and learn to be more compassionate to yourself. Whilst learning a new skill, you also take away wellness and positive mental health practices that you can implement into everyday life.
Can I attend on my own?
Of course, we find that participants are always friendly and you arrive as strangers, leave as friends!
Are board sports safe?
Yes, obviously, entering the sea, jumping on a board with four wheels, or riding a plank in the snow has risks (as does crossing a road or driving a car). All of our teachers are qualified instructors/coaches in their respective board sports, and we mitigate risks with dynamic risk assessments, follow clear teaching protocols, and provide appropriate safety equipment.
